FAQs about the JPCo Blog

How often does Japanese Green Tea Co. publish new blog articles?

Roughly 2-4 new blog posts per month, plus occasional seasonal recipe drops or event recaps. The cadence varies — some months we batch a series (like the 'Everything You Need to Know' series), other months we publish single deep-dive articles. The archive sits at 400+ posts as of mid-2026 and grows steadily.

Bookmarks of the home blog page or following us on Instagram (@japanesegreenteaco) are the easiest way to catch new posts. We also include the latest blogs in our newsletter — sign up via the website footer.

What kinds of topics does the Japanese Green Tea Co. blog cover?

Five main buckets: tea education (cultivars, regions, processing), recipes (drinks, desserts, savory dishes using tea), Japanese culture (tea ceremony, festivals, history), how-to brewing guides, and product news/farm updates. The mix shifts seasonally — more recipes in summer, more cultural content around hanami and New Year, more health-focused content in January.

If you're new to Japanese tea, the 'Green Tea Basics' tag is the best entry point. If you're a recipe seeker, browse 'Green Tea Recipes.'

Where's the best place to start reading if I'm new to Japanese green tea?

Three foundational reads: 'Everything You Need to Know About Different Types of Japanese Tea' (covers sencha 煎茶, matcha 抹茶, gyokuro 玉露, hojicha ほうじ茶, etc.), 'How to Brew Tasty Japanese Green Tea' (technique fundamentals — water temp, steep time, leaf-to-water ratio), and 'What is Single Origin Cultivar?' (helps you read tea labels properly).

After those three, you'll have enough context to navigate any other article on the site. The next step is tasting — start with a Sencha Lover Gift Set or Issaku Reserve to put what you've read into actual cups.

Can I subscribe to JPCo blog updates by email?

Yes. Sign up for our newsletter (form at the bottom of every page on japanesegreenteain.com) and you'll get the latest blog posts, recipes, and tea farm news once or twice a month. We don't spam — that's a real once-or-twice-a-month rhythm, not a daily push.

Newsletter subscribers also get early access to seasonal releases (shincha 新茶 first-flush teas, holiday gift sets) and occasional subscriber-only discount codes. If you're going to read the blog anyway, the newsletter just brings the new posts to you.

Are JPCo blog articles written by tea experts, or is it generic content?

Mostly written or co-written by Kei (the founder), with some posts contributed by team members and occasional guest writers. Kei grew up around Japanese tea farms and has been operating Japanese Green Tea Co. for over a decade — the cultural and technical content reflects that background. Recipe posts often involve testing in our actual kitchen.

We're transparent when guest writers contribute — those are credited at the top of the post. AI is used for drafting and proofreading on some posts (typically health-research-heavy ones where we want fact-checking), but a human at the company always reviews every paragraph for accuracy and voice before publishing.

Genmaicha - Green Tea with Roasted Brown Rice

$30.00
